WORLD: IRELAND
Tipperary
Tipperary Natural Mineral Water Company was founded in 1986 by Patrick and Nicholas Cooney. It has since flourished into a major national brand in the £40 million Irish Bottled water market. The Tipperary source is located at Borrisoleigh in County Tipperary, where the Devil's Bit mountains form a large natural filter of unspoilt countryside. Tipperary Natural Mineral Water is sourced at a depth of 300ft, the source is covered in Devonian Sandstone, affording the highest degree of filtration & protection. "The Good Water Guide", 1994 edition, detailing the world's best bottled waters describes Tipperary Natural Mineral Water as follows :- Microbiologically, the water is remarkably pure, apart from it's high potassium content which may contribute to it's subtly refreshing flavour." Tipperary is low in minerals. It is not what is in a bottled water that defines its quality, it's what is absent - the lower the mineralisation, the purer the water.
