Icelandic Glacial
The source of this water is the legendary Ölfus Spring, formed during a massive volcanic eruption over 4,500 years ago and shielded from the elements by an impenetrable barrier of lava rock since then. The water is piped directly into the bottling plant from the spring via a dedicated stainless steel pipeline. The local government has applied a 128,000 acre exclusion zone above the spring, and no farming, animals or buildings are permitted in the surrounding area. Icelandic Glacial continue to receive design awards for its innovative packaging, including “Best Overall Concept” award — among other top honors — at the 2005 Bottled Water World Design Awards in Dubai. They also captured the silver medal in the People’s Choice Award for Best Packaging Design at the 2006 Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting competition held in Berkeley Springs, W.V., where more than 100 sparkling, bottled and municipal waters competed in the largest and longest running water tasting in the world.
